Internet.org is an initiative by Mark Zukerberg of Facebook and other partners that aim to bring low cost internet to all parts of the world, particularly in the remote regions where internet is still not largely accessible. To ensure internet connectivity in even the most technologcially backward region, the partners of internet.org plan to develop the tools and technology required to improve data compression capabilities and make data networks and services run more efficiently. In order to realize this goal, the associated organizations hope to bring together app developers, mobile operators and manufacturers alike to devise business strategies that give people ways to get online.
